Flowers Forever: Ode to Mother

The Day begins, an ordinary sunrIse. 

Mother awakens, and within her embrace, a child lies 

 Away child soars, as toys and distractions arise 

Mother prepares coffee, as child’s lessons are comprised 

 The school Day begins, an ordinary high 

Mother sips coffee, and teaches lessons with love in her eyes.

Away child watches, as stars begin to rush 

Mother prepares dinner, as child begins to hush.

 The Nighttime routine begins, an Ordinary rhyme 

Mother prepares a bath for child, and listens to the Ticks of passing time. 

 Away child sleeps, child’s dreams awaiting to take flight 

Mother washes dishes, as a lullaby is hummed with a sigh.

 The cycle repeats, an old and new bloom 

As memories are made, one day at a time, with love eternally 

 Shining through.
