Downsides of Winter

 When it’s cold outside and the weather is dreary

When it’s time to go out to shovel snow

And you’re very much missing the breeze of spring

The birds have migrated south, and they’re flapping their wings

When the trees are bare, and the grass frosted and you’re starting to see

The downsides of dear, old winter.

When Christmas has passed

When you don’t even look at at the forecast, because you already know

It’ll be below 40 degrees.

Oh, the dull downsides of winter.
